Balochistan’s Independence, Appeals for International Recognition

Date:

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Mir announced that Balochistan had declared independence from Pakistan and urged India to recognize the newly declared Democratic Republic of Balochistan by allowing the establishment of an embassy in New Delhi. He also appealed to the United Nations to dispatch peacekeeping forces and officially recognize the new state.

“We have claimed our independence,” Mir stated, adding that Baloch fighters had launched attacks on Pakistan’s gas infrastructure in Dera Bugti, an area with over 100 gas wells.

Calling on the international community, Mir urged the UN to convene a session of member states to support recognition of Balochistan’s independence. “There must be a release of billions in funds for currency and passport printing,” he added.

He further demanded the immediate withdrawal of all non-Baloch personnel from the region, including the Pakistani army, Frontier Corps, police, military intelligence, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and the civil administration.

Mir announced that a transitional interim government would be formed shortly, ensuring representation for Baloch women in the cabinet.

“The control of Balochistan will soon be handed over to the new government,” he said, adding that a formal state ceremony would be held to commemorate the declaration of independence. “We invite heads of state from friendly countries to attend and witness our national parade.”
